The camera never lies.

We offer a FREE CAMERA INSPECTION with every drain call where it’s applicable. This helps us do our job more thoroughly and gives the homeowner a visual of what’s going on. We will get to the bottom of what happened and will do the job right way. We can give you before and after videos, and the camera never lies!

OUR MISSION - YOUR SATISFACTION

It all starts with providing a high-quality service, at competitive prices, and building relationships that will last. We care about our customers and love being a part of the service industry. Taking the time to explain how things work to clients and how to prevent the same problems from arising again in the future isn’t extra work, it’s just good business. If you want to watch us work, no problem! Let’s talk about what’s being done and why!

We are so confident in our service that if someone else can do it better we’ll give you your money back.

We care about preserving your home and take the necessary precautions so the floors, walls, and fixtures aren’t stained, scratched, or damaged. When we walk out the door it will look like we were never there.

We service any and all drains in the home including sinks, tubs/showers, toilets, vent lines, floor drains, main drains, etc. You name it, we snake it.

Sewer Inspection

WHAT IS A SEWER INSPECTION?

Inspecting the main sewer line prior to buying a home has become the norm in much of southeast Michigan, and for good reason. When you buy a house connected to the city sewer system, you’re responsible for the main sewer line all the way until it taps into the city main, no matter where the pipe is located underground.

The main sewer line is where all the wastewater in the home converges into one main pipe, and is typically accessible through a clean-out in the basement or an “outside clean-out” in the yard. Generally the camera is run from the main clean-out to the city connection to inspect the pipe for any damage.

If the house is on a slab foundation or has a crawlspace, sometimes the inspection may need to be performed from the roof through an atmospheric vent line or by pulling and resetting a toilet in order to access the waste-line.

WE GO THE EXTRA MILE-Whether it be chiseling off (and of course replacing) an old rusted shut clean-out cap, hiking the camera equipment up onto the roof, pulling and resetting a toilet to gain access to the waste-line(with homeowners permission), or running the camera through an old-school sanitary house trap, we’ll do what’s necessary to get the job done, and will do so in a safe and professional manner. You’ll have access to a video recording of the line as well as a descriptive report of the findings via email the day of the inspection.

IF YOU’RE BUYING A HOME a sewer inspection can uncover problems that cost thousands of dollars to repair, and often times these issues are unknown even to the current homeowner. Most of the sewers in homes built prior to the 1980’s are made of original clay tile/cast iron or are at least partially original clay tile/cast iron. Given the age they can be plagued with tree root intrusions, cracks, breaks, bellies, shifts, etc. The biggest thing we’re looking for is any telltale signs of failure that tell us the structural integrity of the pipe is compromised. A proper sewer inspection will not only help save you from an unexpected repair cost, it will also help prevent an unwelcome sewer backup into the home. Trust us…it’s not a happy housewarming gift, especially after you’ve just moved in all your personal items. Often times the sewer line turns out to be in great shape, but it’s worth paying for that peace of mind!

IF YOU’RE SELLING YOUR HOME and the buyer’s inspection found tree roots, calcium buildup, or other debris built up in the line that needs to be cleared out, it’s likely they will ask you as the current homeowner to take care of it. CDC can both deep clean the line and re-inspect it with the camera afterward in the same appointment(includes a before and after video). When we say deep clean, we mean if someone else can do it better, we’ll give you your money back. Our deep cleaning/re-inspection prices are very competitive.

Line Locating

When a line has a break and needs to be excavated and replaced, step one is figuring out where to dig. Using sonde location technology in the camera head (it emits a unique frequency) we can use a locator wand above ground so you’ll know exactly where to find the pipe and how deep it is.

This can also be useful for locating septic tanks if the lid has become overgrown and you need to gain access.
